Things to know in the latest iOS 14.5 Update

Apple announced the IOS 14.5 stable version a few days ago and it is available for download. I’ve updated mine and I want to share with you some cool stuff you can do with this new update from Apple Inc.

App Tracking Transparency

Apple will let you know which apps are tracking you when you want to download them. A pop-up will flash up when you want to download these apps. You can see which data these apps will collect and will need your permission to collect any kind of data. You can disable them or continue to let them track you.

Facebook has publicly lobbied against this new feature by apple saying, it will “kill” small businesses running ads on its platform as they need this kind of data to serve ads to their customers.

With the latest operating system update from Apple, you can unlock your iPhone when wearing your facemask. Unfortunately, this feature won’t work without an Apple Watch.

“With apple watch on the wrist, unlocked, and in close proximity to iPhone, users can simply glance at their iPhone and they will receive haptic feedback from Apple Watch, indicating their iPhone has been unlocked,” Apple said in a statement.

Apple will no longer set the standard female Siri voice for you, but will rather allow you to toggle through four voices to select how you want your Siri to talk. It includes two male and two female American voices. Also, you will have five regions to select the accent of the tone. Namely South Africa, Ireland, Britain, Australia, and India. Where you will have 1 male and 1 female voice respectively.

“Siri no longer has a default voice, allowing users to choose the voice that speaks to them when they first step their device,” goes on to say…“In English, users can now select more diverse voice options. These new Siri voices use Natural Text to Speech technology for an incredibly natural sound,” Apple said in a statement.
