Whenever you tell someone that there are several jobs available either in Ghana or for Ghanaians to do remotely, the first question they ask is where will I find such a job? After being asked this question severally, I have decided to write this short guide to show where you can look for jobs online in Ghana.
Ghana is one of the luckiest countries on the African continent. Not only are we blessed in natural resources, but our human resource is also great. But one issue most of these people face is the lack of avenues to find jobs that meet their skill set.
Before COVID-19, most people had a normal life and a stable job they enjoyed. Now, that is no longer the case because some companies no longer require their staff to come to the office again. Remote work is gradually taking over the world and so we must be ready for it.
In all this, getting a job is still an issue in Ghana because of the lack of awareness when it comes to mediums, we can use to get a job. Below are some of the best platforms you can use to search for jobs online in Ghana.
1. LinkedIn
LinkedIn is not only a professional social media platform to connect and share experiences with other individuals in or outside your field. LinkedIn is also a job portal where many companies post jobs for qualified applicants to apply.
Here, you can filter by searching for a particular job title, location, remote or in-person, experience level, and even the companies you want to search within. Once you find a role, the requirements, application method, sometimes the salary, and all the other information will be made available for you.
In case you are using LinkedIn premium, you can even see whether your qualifications match the job and that will give you an assurance of your chances of getting the job. Apart from you being referred to an external platform, the application process on LinkedIn is very fast and simple.
2. Indeed
Unlike LinkedIn, Indeed is a complete job website where recruiters and employers post jobs for people to apply. According to the data on their website, Indeed gets over 250 million unique visitors every month on their website.
On Indeed you can post your resume or cv, search for jobs for free and you can research companies. No matter your skills, experience level, or salary expectation, there is a job available for you on Indeed.
3. Glassdoor
On Glassdoor, job seekers can create an account, search for open jobs, and read detailed information on salary, benefits, company culture, etc. Once you can create your account, you can also sign up for email alerts to receive a list of job opportunities.
Additionally, you can also visit each company’s Glassdoor profile to read detailed reviews on interviews and employee experiences. This can go a long way to help you when you are preparing for an interview or job application.
4. Facebook
The youth of today see Facebook as an outdated social media platform meant for old people but, this is one of the best social media platforms in the world. Apart from it being the most active social media platform in the world, it also has a featured job portal.
Although some of the jobs posted here are not as detailed as the ones on LinkedIn and Indeed, it is still a viable route you can choose for your job search.
