Winning VGMA Best Rap Performance Was Not My Dream-Amerado Burner

Ghanaian rapper Amerado Burner has revealed winning the Vodafone Ghana Music Award for Best rapper performance was not his main dream.

In the world of music, artists are appreciated for their effort and work in the music industry when they receive an award, which symbolizes their impact in the industry.

It is the dream of every artist to secure a plaque which is an indicator of success in the music industry and to make their fans proud.

However,  Ghanaian rapper, Amerado had different ambitions prior to winning the highly coveted Best Rapper award at the VGMA’s.In an interview with Doreen Avio on Hitz Fm 103.9, the ‘Abotere’ hitmaker expressed how fascinated he was by the recognition he had received from VGMA, but emphasized that doing music to impact his fans positively and earning money for his music career to take care of his family was his dream.

“I have always wanted this plaque, it was a shock, it was like I was dreaming basically. So when they mention ‘Obiaa Boa’ Amerado, I just told myself thank you, God. I was very shocked and happy at the same time”.

“Doing music and making sure that I have a positive impact on people is the dream, making sure that I get money from my music to feed my home is the dream”. He said.

Speaking further he said that, winning awards is just to have a good history about his career and to put smiles on fans. 

“But I believe that those who support me will be very happy that I win plaques that I win awards, that is to cement the position, that is to have a positive or good CV because in as much as I do music in 20 years to the time I should have something to show for it. This is not something to make me relax, even thou it was part of the dream but wasn’t the dream. the dream is to do music touch souls get money and feed home”.
