In one of my SEO help groups on Facebook, someone asked; How can I get 1k organic traffic from google. My answer was straightforward. Create evergreen blog content. However, he wasn’t so sure about my reply.
Do you remember that blog post you made several months ago that is still bringing in traffic to date? That is evergreen content.
I can still recall that cringe moment when I first published Uk used iPhone guide on my blog. I was worried that no one will find my content and even read them. It turns out that there are always people in Ghana who needs assistance in selecting a pre-owned iPhone from the United Kingdom.
Today, I gain almost 1000 organic views monthly from that particular article because it is evergreen content. It is going to remain ” relevant forever”. Except somehow Ghanaians decide to stop buying Uk used iPhones, which is nearly impossible.
Take a blog like “how to lose weight“, or “cheap Samsung phones on the market“. A blog about these is evergreen because there will always be people trying to lose weight, likewise people trying to buy affordable phones.
Today in this guide, you will find answers to all these questions, and you will be able to create evergreen content for your blog that will bring about 1k organic readers monthly to your blog.
An evergreen blog content is SEO content that remains “relevant” or “fresh” for readers after a long time. Search traffic also grows over time.
Take a website like Wikipedia for an example, they have consistent monthly searches and rank higher because of the content they publish and how well it is structured.
Here are some examples of topics that may be considered evergreen blog articles:
Although there are a lot of sustainable topic ideas for your blog, you should consider writing evergreen content that is related to your site.
However, in some niches, almost all evergreen content ideas have been covered. Don’t worry, do a detailed research on longtail keywords that are related to that particular topic.
Here are some evergreen niche ideas that never get old. If you are yet to start a blog, you can choose one of these niches to write blogs about.
Traffic may spike or drop during particular seasons, but searches are consistent with these topics.
Find Longtail keywords: use SEO tools like ahref to find longtail keywords related to your industry. It will guide you to monitor the amount of traffic you could be getting consistently.
Research and write on guides and tutorials: It has been proven that guides and tutorials are the best forms of evergreen content. When you need help with a product, what do you search for? A guide.
The only difference will be the kind of topic you write about. Therefore, do thorough keyword research on your niche and choose a topic to write a detailed and comprehensive guide.
Keep articles updated to the Latest versions: Updating your content regularly makes it evergreen. Take the Amazon forest for an example, it remains evergreen because of continual rains to keep it fresh.
Be strategically updating posts doing well on your website with new information, it can be images, videos, case studies, etc. this will keep your readers abreast with all the current information you have to provide.
Write for beginners: Avoid technical terms and jargon if you want to create a post people will love over time.
Experts are less likely to be looking for solutions online. Therefore create blogs that are focused on guiding the beginner in a clear language.
Repurpose your content: one of the best ways to generate new traffic with your past content is to convert it to another format. Say you have a comprehensive review of SEO content, you can reuse that idea to create a video to gain new followers, and you can change its format to an infographic and share it elsewhere.
Bloggers with little or no monthly search traffic can follow evergreen content styles for their blogs. It will help them gain consistent traffic over time.
Desist from news blogs as news articles tend to expire over time. Moreover, you cant outrank the big sites with news content.
Meanwhile, find longtail keywords according to your niche and structure SEO-friendly blog posts with an evergreen content style to start gaining quality organic traffic from Google every month.
